Boards, Committees, and Commissions

Some local governments, like Ballard City, have boards, committees, and commissions. Boards, committees, and commissions are advisory groups that study specific, assigned policy areas and report to the City Council about the work they do when they meet together. This helps the City Council deliberate on common municipal issues that affect the city. We are always looking for people to apply to serve on these boards and commissions.

Requirements

The following applies to most advisory boards/commissions: you must be a Ballard City resident.

Terms of appointment

Most members serve for a term of four years, with a maximum of three full terms and until their respective successors are appointed and qualified.  The terms run concurrent with the term of the appointing City Councilmember.
