Five-Member Council Form of Government
Ballard City has established a five (5) member council form of government in accordance with Title 10 of the Utah Municipal Code. The council consists of an elected Mayor and four (4) elected Council Members. In this form of government, all Council Members, including the Mayor, have a vote and decide the affairs of Ballard City. This being said, the legislative and judicial authorities reside with the council, with the administrative and executive authorities delegated to the mayor.
It is the responsibility of Ballard City Council Members to review and vote on many issues that affect the quality of life and daily experiences of its residents, as well as items that are essential to the proper functionality of the City. Examples include the passage of resolutions and ordinances, review and approval of the annual budget, review and approval of contracts, and the setting of fee and tax rates.
Meetings and Opportunities to Participate
Public participation is always welcome in Ballard City. We hope that all will have a desire to support the growth of Ballard City through regular meeting attendance and other service opportunities in the community.
